Too many of us, my self included, tend to fire off a response w/o rethinking,
cooling off, and then thinking about it again. It is easy to misunderstand a
remark or its intent. If you feel a need to reply, wait an hour, or better yet,
a day, before turning on the flames. Perhaps you will cool off enough to skip
it entirely (advice to myself).
What could save a lot of grief is to comment off line. No need to clutter the
ML with flames. An example -- invariably, someone will post a comment to the
ML that I am wasting space, rather than emailing me directly, thus wasting
even more space.

I agree. Those who think they know it all are MOST annoying to those of us
who actually do ;-)
